We flew into Brisbane and headed to the Sunshine Coast where my son, Ben, Amie and grandsons Lachlan and Robbie, live. This is going to be home base for us as we tour around Queensland.

The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful, peri-urban region in South East Queensland 110km north of Brisbane, known for its stunning 100km coastline with white-sand beaches, surf breaks, calm bays, lush rainforests, and the volcanic Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland. The Sunshine Coast stretches from Caloundra in the south to Noosa in the north. The area is named because it averages 300 days of sunshine per year.
