A long swim

Greg Dani and Elo joined us for a few days sailing and swimming. We spent the first day and half the night at Pohutukawa Beach. We anchored about 340 meters off shore. We all decided to go ashore. Dani and Elo (9 years old) swam. While Tatiana Greg and I went by dinghy. After a brief walk on the beach we headed back. This time I was alone in the dinghy as everyone wanted to swim to Imagine.

In the middle of the night the swell increased and came side on to Imagine making the boat rock quite a lot. So we hauled anchor and moved to Shakespeare Bay where it was calmer and we could get some sleep. In the morning we moved around to the other side of Whangaparaoa Peninsula to Army Bay where the water was still.

This time we all swam ashore (only 300 meters) then went to look for a Geocache. Dani was the one to find it, a plastic rat with the logbook inside. Back on Imagine we spent the rest of the day relaxing and swimming around the boat.

This morning Greg had to go back to work so we dropped them off at Arkles Bay and we have just been relaxing.
