Danie and Elo came out on Imagine for a couple of days. This would be Elo’s last time on Imagine.
The sea was so calm it looked like glass. Not the slightest of breezes. We hauled anchor and motored out of the bay, heading north to Kawau Island. Over the two hours traveling, the wind slowly increased, blowing from the north meaning we could not take advantage of the wind and sail.
We had only just anchored. Imagine was just settling in the bay when everyone jumped over the side and swam ashore. Exploring the shoreline and collecting pretty rocks and shells kept us busy for an hour. Back on Imagine we had lunch and relaxed in the sun. The afternoons relaxation was interrupted by several diving, jumping and swimming fun.
The following day started with a swim before breakfast, then another swim ashore. They had never experienced having an inflatable lifejacket inflate so we spent half an hour playing with lifejackets and trying to swim with one on. The sky started clouding over so we hauled anchor and headed back to Tindalls Beach.
Last night found us in the middle of a light show, with thunder and lightning all around. the rain was so heavy that the dinghy this morning was full of rain water. The day started with our usual swim before breakfast. To save fresh water instead of showering, I took the soap and face flannel into the dinghy and had a bath.
Danie came out to Imagine at lunch time and joined us for her last swim from Imagine before she, Greg and Elo fly to Australia. It was a little sad for Danie, leaving Imagine after eight years of joining my sailing and swimming around Auckland. Tatiana and I will meet them in Sydney when Imagine is soled (hopefully in February).
