Australia Zoo

We arrived back in Australia last night and we haven’t wasted anytime. Today we went to the Australia Zoo with Ben, Amie and the grand kids.

Australia Zoo was Established in 1970 by Bob and Lyn Irwin as Beerwah Reptile Park, Australia Zoo on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast became world-renowned under Steve Irwin’s leadership from 1992.

Steve, the “Crocodile Hunter,” transformed the park into a premier conservation facility through global documentaries, passion for reptiles, and by establishing wildlife protection projects, with his family continuing his legacy today.

1992-2006 (The “Crocodile Hunter” Era): Steve took over management, and he and wife Terri launched the Crocodile Hunter documentary series. The park was rebranded to Australia Zoo, and they used their media success to build the Wildlife Warriors conservation non-profit.

2006-Present: After Steve’s passing in 2006, Terri Irwin assumed control, with their children, Bindi and Robert, continuing the zoo’s operation and conservation efforts, establishing it as a world-leading wildlife conservation facility.
