Tatiana and I flew to Australia to what will soon be our home, a four wheel drive For Ranger (see The Ranger tab in the menu). We only had 10 days this time to start setting up the Ranger and visit my family on the Sunshine Coast. While in Queensland we will use Caloundra as our base.
We started by strengthening the roof rack, ready for the rooftop tent. Then went to cool off at the local beach. most of the beaches have lifeguards on patrol. this means that you are advised to swim between the flags they post on the beach. Most of the east coast of Australia open to the ocean which means big waves and rips and undertows pulling you out to sea.

The Sunshine Coast is a beautiful, peri-urban region in South East Queensland 110km north of Brisbane, known for its stunning 100km coastline with white-sand beaches, surf breaks, calm bays, lush rainforests, and the volcanic Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland. The Sunshine Coast stretches from Caloundra in the south to Noosa in the north. The area is named because it averages 300 days of sunshine per year.
